Here come the Romas! These are the very large,flat,meaty beans that are so delicious steamed with butter,salt &pepper. I was first introduced to these beans by an elderly Italian man named John,who,along with his wife Lena,tended a jaw dropping acre of vegetables. Whenever I plant,harvest and eat these gems,I think of them.
You are ahead of the curve. I just got around to nestling mine in the garden yesterday. I can’t wait till mine are peeking out too! I planted some romas and some scarlet runners. Happy bean days to come!
